Making Reproducing Disciples of Jesus Christ

Sunday School

Sunday School classes are held from 9:45-10:45 a.m. weekly - between the "early" and "late" worship hours. The following is a list of the classes currently available for our children followed by a breakdown of adult-level classes as well.

Infant - A nursery is provided for infants up to 2 years old during the Sunday School hour. The nursery is currently located in the church basement across from the fellowship hall.

Toddler I Class is for those boys and girls who are 2-3 years old. This class is taught by Mrs. Nancy Carter (Miss Nancy) and is located in the upper level of the new addition in the "Blue Room."

Toddler II Class includes an exciting group of boys and girls ages 4-5 years old who are learning more about the Bible, as well as, how to sit still and work together during class time! Their teacher is Mrs. Carolyn Crosby (Miss Carolyn) and they meet in the "Red Room" located in the upper level of the new addition. This class is for children who are pre-kindergarteners.

Primary Class - The Primary Class is especially designed for children in K-1st grades. Their teacher is Mrs. Karen Carpenter (Miss Karen) and they meet together in the "Yellow Room" which is located in the upper level of the new addition.

Middler Class - This great group of 2nd-3rd graders are eager to learn and enjoy getting togther each week. Mrs. Linda Lovegrove (Miss Linda) is their teacher and they meet in the upper level of the new addition in the "Green Room."

Young Disciples/Junior Class is taught by George Etling and includes boys and girls in grades 4-5. They are excited to return to their former classroom area in the 'old chapel basement.'

Middle School - Our students in grades 6th-8th grade enjoy learning together during their middle school years. Annette Sites is currently serving as the teacher for these students, and the class meets in Room #3 located in one of the single-wide trailers on the property. (Note: On the last Sunday of the month, the middle and high school youth meet together in the youth room with Pastor Todd as their teacher.)

High School - Pastor Todd has taken on this task of teaching our 9th-12th graders weekly. Variety is an important element to keep these active minds focused on learning. Opportunities to serve others, learn more about the Bible and their personal walk with God - while also having times of silly fun keep things going strong! This class meets in the youth building (to the rear of the church) each week and on the last Sunday of the month they welcome the middle school class to join with them as a combined class.

Adult Sunday School - There are four adult-level classes to choose from.

The Open Door Class - This class is designed for individuals ranging from those who have just graduated from high school to young singles to young marrieds (20-30 somethings). Ronnie & Donna Andrews co-lead this class which is housed in the double-wide mobile unit (Room #5).

The Arthur Pilgrim Class is led by several different Bible teachers. It's Bible Study follows the "Standard Publishing's" quarterly curriculum and they meet in the Arthur Pilgrim Classroom located on the lower level of the new addition.

The Be All You Can Be Class is led by Harold Griffin and is located in the fellowship hall. Topical studies on Biblical themes are typically taught in this classroom environment.

The Messenger Class is a small-group type is currently studying the Book of James. Debbie Kauffman and Susie Griffin lead this discussion group which is held in the 'meeting room' of the church basement (across from the fellowship hall).

More for Kids!

Children's Music Ministry! We have a great group of elementary-aged children joining us now which are all eager to learn new songs and praise Jesus on Sunday mornings. Our practices are typically held from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary on Wednesday evenings, and we then typically lead musical worship on the 2nd Sunday of each month. If you'd like to be a part of our team, please come to practice or contact Susan Cole for more information.

Children's Weekly Ministry! We are currently restructuring our ministry to children. We will have a survey available for those interested in participating in a children's ministry (kids and parents) during the month of May. We greatly encourage your input!

We are looking forward to possibilities such as once-a-month outreach nights, children's church or weekly mid-week programming. We are looking forward to seeing what is right around the corner for our kids!

Middle School Youth Group

Pastor Todd - along with some great adult leaders - lead this high energy class of middle schoolers on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the youth building (the pavilion to the rear of the church). Just click on the tab at the top for all the details about our summer schedule shifts!

Teens have some great events in store for them this year such as: Tailgate Parties, Fifth Quarters, Harvest Party and our New Year's Party!

Senior High Youth Group

This group of high schoolers meet every Sunday evening from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the youth building (the pavilion to the rear of the church). Pastor Todd has some great lessons planned for the weeks ahead as well as some ministry projects designed especially for teens. (Summer schedule has shifted - details on the JCYM page.)

Teens have some great events designed just for them such as: Tailgate parties, Fifth Quarters, Christmas Parties, New Year's Party, Ski Retreat and much more!

For Adults

Men's Morning Prayer is held on Sunday mornings at 5:30 a.m. in the church sanctuary. This time is focused specifically on praying for the Worship hours of the day, the music, the message to be presented as well as uplifting those in our Sunday School ministry and each individual who will be attending on that particular Sunday.

Men's Bible Study - A study on the Book of John will be held on Tuesday nights beginning May 13th. Cost is only $5.00. We will meet for approximately 12 weeks at the church from 7:00-8:30 p.m. George Etling will serve as our guide. Additional Bible Studies are coming soon. If you would like to participate in a Discipleship or Bible Study please contact the church office. Once arrangements for the teaching schedule are finalized, you will be contacted.

Women's Bible Study - Several women's studies typically take place throughout the year on various topics and at different learning levels. See "special events" for more details about women's ministry opportunities.

Discipleship - Both men's and women's classes are held. A two-year intensive study has been in place in years past, and we are considering a short-term format of this material as well for those not quite ready to take the full plunge.

Fellowship - Throughout the year we provide a variety of activities for families, couples, singles and all ages from the fun and silly to the more thought-provoking. Contact the church office to find out more about what is coming up this year!

Mission Opportunities

"Go Into All The World!" As a church we are committed to reaching out beyond Augusta County with the Good News of Jesus Christ. Ways we get involved are as varied as teaching our kids about missions during Vacation Bible School each year to holding monthly update/educational meetings for women and men to sending some of our "own" to make a difference in foreign countries - or even right here in the USA! Recently, teams have gone to both Honduras and West Virginia to make a difference in people's lives. For more information about what is available through efforts with other like-minded churches and how you can get involved beyond our local church efforts, check out www.ubmissions.com.
