A Time of Transition

On Sunday, August 19, Don Sprouse, a representative of the Personnel Relations Committee (PRC) of the Administrative Board shared with the church family that they were pleased to inform the church and welcome George Etling as our next full-time Associate Pastor. George officially began his duties on September 1, 2018. Please pray for George and his wife, Cheri, as they transition into this new season of life and ministry with us. (George follows the ministry of Dave Dakin who accepted the Lead Pastor position at HomeFront UB Church in Grandville, MI, earlier this year.)

As we continue to focus forward as a church, we must also recognize the foundation that has been laid for future growth and outreach. Seed funds have been established for a potential youth/multi-purpose building. The septic system that was completed last year, even though pretty unglamorous, is an important piece to help facilitate the possibilities of that addition. The rest of the present structures have been upgraded and improved and should serve us well in the years to come. Our mission of sharing the Gospel, equipping individuals to minister to others in the name of Christ along with efforts to reach out to our community and encourage families will continue on and will keep us plenty busy now and in the years ahead. Let’s make sure that we remain faithful to allow Christ to build His church.

Note: For those who are interested in learning more about how the transition process for Senior/Lead pastors takes place within the Church of the United Brethren in Christ, please feel free to contact Pastor Denny or a Personnel Relations Committee member.
